There is no such thing as a neutral education process. Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate the integration of generations into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity to it, or it becomes the ‘practice of freedom’, the means by which men and women deal critically with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world. — Richard Shaull, drawing on Paulo Freire

cree8 was conceived as a design-build platform to provide resources and space for hands-on learning. Two weeks of design and making activities, including circuitry, photography, and 3d-modeling, were arranged in collaboration with the Youth Department. In collaboration with the Cultural Department, students of the Work Oriented Training Path (WOTP) constructed stackable benches using leftover building materials from the community church. The benches were used in community traditional dwellings.
